Being a carer for your partner

One of the most life-transforming events that can occur in our lives, is to find that owing to a serious injury or a disabling health condition, we become the carer for our partner.

The enormous changes it brings mean that most people experience a difficult period of adaptation. Both the carer and their partner have major adjustments to make to their lifestyle, their work-life balance and their priorities in life. Caring for your partner can also throw up some complex emotions, with carers experiencing love, frustration, resentment and joy, often within the same day.

This webinar explores this demanding situation and looks at some ways carers can manage some of the issues that can arise.

Webinar overview:

  • Adjusting to the new situation
  • The sense of loss
  • Dealing with guilt and anger
  • Seeing the positives
  • Strategies for coping
